Welcome to the Abhina Yoga Ashram 'What is Yoga' – as most of us already know, it is an ancient Indian art which is now synonymous with modern living. But what really is yoga? It is the art of healthy living, both physically as well as mentally. The benefits of Yoga are legendary and it is a widely known and accepted fact that yoga really helps you improve you physical as well as mental well being. There is a wide range of benefits that can be derived from the practice depending on the varying needs of the individual. On the physical perspective, Yoga helps you improve flexibility of your body, increases your strength, tones your muscles, and facilitates your breathing process, thereby preventing unnecessary pain by the use of gentle exercise. The mental benefits achievable from the practice are more important and perhaps the best known – Yoga helps you reduce stress and tension, calms your mind and makes you more aware of your physical and mental self, promoting a feeling of 'oneness'.
